Keep these tools on your device

Every tool here can be installed like an app. It then opens from your home screen or dock, works with no internet, and keeps working if this website ever goes away.

Each tool installs on its own, so you can install just the one you need, or install the main page to get all of them.

How to install

Chrome, Edge or Brave on a computer
  1. Open the page you want to keep, either this one or a single tool.
  2. Look in the address bar for the install icon, a small screen with a down arrow. If it is not there, open the menu (three dots) and find Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.
  3. Choose Install. It appears with your other apps, and you can pin it to the taskbar or dock.
Chrome on an Android phone or tablet
  1. Open the page in Chrome.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots).
  3. Tap Add to Home screen, or Install app if that is what it says.
  4. Tap Install. The icon appears on your home screen.
Safari on an iPhone or iPad
  1. Open the page in Safari. This does not work from Chrome on an iPhone, it has to be Safari.
  2. Tap Share, the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.
Safari on a Mac
  1. Open the page in Safari.
  2. Open the File menu and choose Add to Dock.
  3. Choose Add. It opens in its own window from then on.

How to check it works offline

Check it works with no internet
  1. Open the tool once while you do have internet, so your device can keep a copy.
  2. Turn on Airplane mode, or switch off wifi and mobile data.
  3. Open the tool again. It should open and work exactly as before.
  4. If it does not open, connect for a moment, load it once more, then try again.

Your work is saved on your device, not on a server, so nobody else can see it and nobody can recover it for you if you delete it. Save or send yourself the PDF when you finish.

How to check it is not sending your information anywhere

The simple check: do the whole job in Airplane mode
  1. Turn on Airplane mode.
  2. Fill in your details and produce your PDF as normal.
  3. If it all works with no internet, nothing was sent anywhere, because there was no connection to send it over.
The thorough check, on a computer
  1. Open the tool in Chrome, Edge or Brave.
  2. Press F12 to open the developer tools, and choose the Network tab.
  3. Tick Preserve log, then use the tool: type your details, add your documents, produce your PDF.
  4. Watch the list. You will see the files the page needs to load itself, all from immigration.fyi. Nothing you typed or uploaded should appear as a request going out.

On an iPhone use the Airplane mode check instead. Safari on iOS has no network panel.

There is no account and no sign in, because there is nothing to sign in to. Your documents are opened by your browser and stay in it.
